Supporting your family in a beautiful and fearless birth
Every pregnancy, labor and birth is different.
But one thing is constant: every birthing person needs support. ~ Gail Tully Founder, Spinning Babies

You will never forget the moment you meet your child.
Ask any woman who has given birth about her experience and she will have a story. Almost immediately you will know if her experience was favorable or not. That is because, we never forget this day. It is so important to bring a team around you that supports you and your vision, that knows birth, and has experience in all kinds of births, that works together with you and your spouse, listens to you, and is for you.
What is a Doula?
a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to their client before, during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
Research shows that childbirth does go more smoothly with a doula: labor is 25 percent shorter, the need for epidural pain relief is 60 percent less, and the Caesarean section rate is reduced by 50 percent.

Some common questions...
But maybe I'll just have my mother or sister? Your mother or sister have only had their birth experiences. I have had nearly 100 birth experiences, with all kinds of situations. Yes! Have your mother or sister be in the room if that brings you joy, but do they know how to help labor progress if it stalls? Do they know laboring positions for all kinds of specific scenarios? Do they know how to help you advocate when a hospital wants to proceed with medically unnecessary interventions?
My husband or birth partner wants this experience to be intimate for us...
Absolutely. The support I give actually enhances your partners support. I don't replace them, I give you ways to labor that include him. Actually, husbands have been just as grateful as moms for the support, confidence, and peace having a doula brought to the birth experience. Your birth partner knows you best, and I know birth best. Together you will have the BEST team on your side!

"After having a difficult birth with my first born, I had a lot of fears going into this second birth. I knew that this time I wanted to have a doula with me to see if I could have a better experience, and having Katie with me made all the difference.
From the moment she came in, she provided the support and comfort my husband and I needed in a stressful situation. I am so grateful that I can look back at this birth and feel nothing but joy, and I know that is because Katie was with us. I cannot more highly recommend her."
